Martín Andrés Silva Leites (born March 25, 1983) is a Uruguayan footballer. He currently plays as agoalkeeper for the Paraguayan Primera Division side Club Olimpia and the Uruguay national football team.
Club career
Silva has played most of his professional career in Defensor Sporting, starting in 2002.
In August 2011, he signed a four-year contract with the Paraguayan club Olimpia.
International career
Silva has appeared on Uruguay´s youth teams such us the Uruguay national under-17 football team and theUruguay national under-20 football team during 2000 to 2002. He won his first international cap for Uruguayin a friendly match against Algeria, on August 12, 2009. He was included in the starting line-up of players for that match. Silva was also Uruguay's third choice goalkeeper in the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the 2011 Copa América. He played for the national team against Tahiti on June 23 2013, when Uruguay destroyed the Tahitians 8-0 in the Confederations Cup, and had his second and third games against Jordan, whenUruguay won its place for the 2014 World Cup, on November 13 and November 20 2013, respectively.
