On 20 October 2010, Nikos Nioplias handed Mavrias his debut in the Champions League against Rubin Kazan – the youngster becoming the second-youngest debutant ever in the process behindCelestine Babayaro. A week later, he made his first appearance as a substitute in the Greek Cup, winning a penalty 5 minutes after entering the field against Kozani FC.
Throughout the 2011/12 season, he got a fair amount of playing time by coach Jesualdo Ferreira, displaying features of a promising player. On the 1st of June 2012 he signed a new contract that would keep him at the club until 2016.
Mavrias scored his first European goal on July 31, 2012, against Motherwell F.C. in the first leg of the third qualifying round of the Champions League, one minute after coming onto the pitch as a substitute.[1] The goal made him the youngest ever Panathinaikos player to score in an international game. On December 9, 2012, Mavrias scored one goal and made one assist against archrivals Olympiacos F.C. in a match ending 2-2. This goal made him the youngest player ever in the history of the club to score a goal in the derby of the "Eternal Enemies". He was 18 years and 291 old. The previous record was held by the living legend of the club Mimis Domazos, who had scored his first goal in such a derby at the age of 20 years and 7 days old in a match played on 28 January 1962.
