Charles Mariano Aránguiz Sandoval (born April 17, 1989, in Puente Alto, Chile) is a Chilean football midfielder who plays for Universidad de Chile.[1]
An international Chilean player, with a good sense of tactics, impressive stamina and intelligent playmaking, marking and passing abilities, he is considered one of the best midfielders in the Chilean top division. Aranguiz can play as a defensive, centre or even as a right wing midfielder.
He was one of the key players in the Universidad de Chile 2011 squad that went on to win the 2011 Copa Sudamericana, which was achieved after a brilliant performance, where the Chilean team remained unbeaten for the entire tournament.
Biography
Early life
He was born in Puente Alto in Diego Portales neighborhood. He started to play football in Universidad de Chile and then he left the club to join Cobreloa Academy when he was 13 years old.[2]
He made his debut in 2006, against Cobresal. His first goal in 1st División was against Ohiggins de Rancagua in 2006.
International career
He participated in Milk Cup in 2007.
He participated for the U-20 Chile Team in 2009 South American Youth Championship; there he scored 1 goal in the championship, by a free kick.
